ST John Ambulance has announced plans to expand its training venues in Worcestershire by opening a new Redditch base.
From September, the charity’s training arm will offer workplace first aid courses at the town’s business centre in Edward Street.
Courses on offer will include first aid at work and refresher training, emergency first aid at work, and paediatric first aid which is ideal for people working with young children.
The first course will be held on September 17.
Last year St John Ambulance trained more than 100 people a week at its West Midlands venues, mainly in the three-day first aid at work and the one-day emergency first aid courses.
John Cavanagh, regional director of St John Ambulance’s commercial training division, said: "Redditch is an ideal new location for us to meet the demand that we have for our courses in Worcestershire and south of Birmingham.
"It will make St John Ambulance training courses more accessible and we hope it will encourage employers to help their staff learn the skills that can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
"Not only crucial in the workplace, the skills we teach are life skills are our courses are the best available. We have numerous examples of people who have been sent on workplace first aid courses only to find their knowledge has helped them to save the life of a family member or act confidently in an emergency.”
St John Ambulance also runs training courses at other venues in Kidderminster, Worcester, and Bromsgrove as well 25 other West Midlands locations and on customer’s premises.
