THE congregation of St John’s Church in Greenlands were recently surprised to have two unusual visitors amongst them. Jason Beddard kindly brought Bella and Bob, two boa constrictors, to the Sunday morning service.
The service was the first of St John’s summer series ‘God is with us everywhere’ which on this occasion focused on ‘God in the Jungle’. The congregation got the chance to handle these South American snakes, as well as learning all about them. This was linked to the role of snakes in the bible.
St John’s Church is a friendly, family church which welcomes everyone on Sunday mornings at 10.30pm. During term time children aged one-13 years have a separate Sunday School in the church hall, while parents can enjoy the service in the church building.
A spokesman said: “Come along and give us a try over the summer when we will be finding out about God on the mountain tops, in the desert, by the sea and lots more.”
