RESIDENTS at a Studley care home were delighted to welcome a very special guest recently.

Four Acres Care Home received a visit from Rupert the horse, thanks to BE-Equine, a company based in Telford.

The company, run by Elaine Whalley, not only takes horses out to visit homes, schools etc, but also teaches people to ride and offers training to people to build better understanding between them and their own horses.

Ms Whalley said: “The reactions we get when we bring Rupert to homes such as Four Acres is always so amazing. He gets lots of strokes and kisses, and people do talk to him a lot.

“And it really encourages people who may not normally want to talk to others to open up, and many people reminisce about their childhood.

“Rupert can also play a little football, and stand on a box, and people are always delighted to see that.”
