POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man walking in Wythall was seriously injured in a road collision.

The man, in his 20s, was in Clewshall Lane when he was involved in a collision with a red Vauxhall Astra near the junction with Middle Lane.

He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious leg and other injuries in a critical but stable condition.

A man driving the Astra was taken to hospital with a hand injury as was his front seat passenger, a woman, who suffered cuts.

Sergeant Tony Bush from the Force Operations Support Team (FOST) said: “The man who was walking has serious injuries and therefore it is important that we speak to anyone who either saw him in the area before the incident, saw the car prior to the collision or witnessed what happened.

“I would appeal to anyone with information that could help us to call me or members of my team at Rubery Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the incident reference 189-N-270313.”

The incident happened Wednesday, March 27, at about 10pm.
