Miss Worcestershire heat coming to Redditch

REDDITCH may be playing host to pageant royalty this month as the Miss Worcestershire heats of Miss England 2013 arrive at Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

Taking place on March 29 and 30, from 9am-5.30pm on Park Walk, next door to JD Sports and opposite Waterstones in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, this year’s organisers are looking for a young woman who embodies the spirit of ‘Beauty with a purpose’ and who can successfully represent Miss Worcestershire throughout her reign.

The Miss Worcestershire final will be held in Bromsgrove on May 19 and the winner will be fast-tracked to represent Worcestershire in the Grand Final of Miss England 2013.

Miss England will represent England in the Miss World pageant in September in Jakarta and have a chance of winning $100,000 and a host of prizes from sponsors worth £30,000.

Ken Williams, Kingfisher Shopping Centre general manager said: “We’re thrilled to be able to host part of the Miss Worcestershire heats at Kingfisher Shopping Centre. The competition has grown year on year in the area and we’re delighted to be part of it.

“Redditch has a fantastic array of talent and it would be a true boon for the town if Miss England could originated from here.”

Kumar Chan, organiser of Miss Worcestershire 2013, said: “Miss Worcestershire should be somebody who can truly represent all this wonderful county has to offer, somebody who can do great things with their title and make Worcestershire proud.
