A MAN has appeared at Redditch Magistrates Court charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place, criminal damage and assault.
Luke Downes, aged 24, from Redditch, pleaded guilty to all three charges and was remanded in custody.
He admitted damaging a vehicle and injuring the male driver with a Samurai sword, in Arthur Street, Redditch, at about 12.45pm on Saturday, March 16.
Armed officers were sent to the scene and Downes was subsequently arrested nearby.
The victim was not badly injured and received just a few superficial cuts to his neck.
Luke Downes is next due to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court on Monday, April 8.
Redditch Inspector Ian Joseph said this was an isolated incident as the two men were known to each other. Officers were at the scene very quickly and the offender was arrested and charged nearby before being remanded in custody.
