Messy Church returns to Redditch for Easter

MESSY Easter returns to Emmanuel Church, in Redditch’s Ecumenical Centre, on Good Friday, March 29, from 10am-noon.

The previous Messy Church held at the venue saw more than 30 children come along with their parents to learn all about the story of Jonah and the Whale, including making a giant whale.

At the Easter Messy Church, organisers will be making edible Easter gardens, making Easter baskets and cards and using puppets to tell the Easter story.

They will also inviting Canon David Rogers back to make palm crosses and there will be a chance to help make an Easter garden for display at St Stephen’s Church.

Rhiannon Walpole, part of the organising team, said: "We have a great time at Messy Church, with a whole range of activities to cater for all ages. We look at different teachings from the bible during each session and there's always a quiet corner where people can offer their prayers, but mainly it's just a fun church to come to."

Messy Church has been organised by members of Emmanuel Church and Redditch Holy Trinity. To find out more and to see photos from previous events visit www.facebook.com/MessyChurchRedditch.
