Former civil service land in Studley sold

ALMOST £40m has been raised by the Government for the public purse by selling off property in the West Midlands.

£36.8m has been made by selling property and land no longer required by the Civil Service, including land at Redditch Road in Studley.

Cabinet Office Minister, Francis Maude recently announced that government departments had raised more than £1 billion for the taxpayer since May 2010.

She said: “It’s remarkable that the government was paying for property that it just wasn’t using.

“That kind of waste is always unacceptable – but is completely unjustifiable when we are trying to reduce the deficit and get ahead in the global race.”
