A 27-year-old Redditch woman has had her CRASBO (Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order) changed, meaning that she is now banned from entering Redditch Town Centre.

The variation to the order was made at Redditch Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 12.

Cheryl Hemmings, of Linton Close, Redditch, was originally served with the CRASBO in August 2011, after being convicted of a number of public order offences.

Miss Hemmings was one of several people targeted in a policing operation in Redditch which aimed to deal with a small number of persistent drinkers involved in anti-social behaviour in the town centre at the time.

Subsequently, she was banned from just a few streets in the town centre.

This has now been amended to include the shopping centre, bus station and Unicorn Hill.

The ban was initially put in place for two years and runs out in August this year.

If Miss Hemmings breaches the ban she can be arrested by police, then fined or imprisoned for up to five years.

PC Adrian Corrigan from the town centre’s Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "We welcome this extension of Miss Hemmings' CRASBO, which comes after a number of complaints to the police about her behaviour in the areas now included in the order.

“We intend to rigorously enforce the ban and hope it will put a stop to her appalling behaviour, which has been having a detrimental effect on those working or visiting the town.”
