Seventh man appears in court charged in connection with helping prisoner to escape

A SEVENTH man charged in connection with the John Anslow prison escort van escape has appeared at court.

The 51 year old is charged with conspiring to assist with an escape from lawful custody and was remanded in custody in Birmingham on Monday. He is due to appear at the city's crown court on Friday.

The man is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday, March 11.

Six other men appeared in court last week charged with the same offence in connection with Anslow’s escape, following arrests in Redditch, Dudley and Birmingham. Another man who was also arrested at the time was later released on police bail.
