Man robbed of mobile phone at knifepoint in Hollywood

WITNESSES and information are being sought after a man was robbed of his mobile phone at knifepoint in Hollywood, near Redditch.

It happened at about 8.50pm on Friday, March 8, in Sycamore Drive.

The 18-year-old victim was walking along Beech Road and as he turned into Sycamore Drive was aware of a man behind him. The man then produced a knife and demanded he hand over his phone  - a white Apple iPhone 4S. The victim threw his phone over to him and the man ran off into Beech Road.

The offender is described as white, slim to average build, 5ft 10ins in height, in his early 30s and spoke with a Birmingham accent. He was wearing a dark grey tracksuit which had a hooded top, and grey trainers.

Detective Constable Jake Wright from Bromsgrove CID said: “We are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Beech Road or Sycamore Drive area on Friday evening and thinks they may have seen this man or the robbery taking place.”
