Inspirational charity secures charitable status

REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley has lent her support to an inspirational charity.
Trudy’s Trust was founded in June 2011 after the tragic case of Trudy Shingler from Rugeley.
Trudy, a forensic psychologist, lost her life aged 35 to a brain tumour, just four months after being diagnosed.
She left behind her husband Lea and four-year-old son, Phoenix.
Since then the charity has been raising cash for brain tumour research and an awareness of the plight of sufferers of the horrific disease.
It also offers support and advice to patients and their families during illness and also following bereavement.
The charity was recently awarded charitable status by the Charities Commission.
Mrs Lumley said: “The story of Trudy Shingler is terribly sad and I very much support the brave efforts of Barrie Watts and founders Mark and Sue Leeson in helping to raise awareness about brain tumours.
“It is a remarkable achievement to secure charitable status so soon after the formation of Trudy’s Trust.
“Now the charity is looking to encourage people to get involved and donate. It is a wonderful cause and I urge people to visit the website and take a look.”
