Youths due before Redditch magistrates today after BB gun incident

TWO youths are due to appear at Redditch Magistrates Court today charged in connection with an incident in the town which led to police recovering a BB gun.

Police went to the Oakenshaw area of Redditch at about 8.30pm on Sunday, March 3, after receiving a report from a member of the public that someone had been seen with a gun near the McDonald’s restaurant.

Two 17-year-old youths were arrested in the area a short time later and officers subsequently recovered a BB gun.

One of the youths was charged with possession of a BB pistol with intent to cause fear of violence and two counts of assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty. The other youth has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
