A GROUP of dancers from a Redditch studio proved they had all the right moves when they took part in a hotly fought  competition.

A team of 11 young dancers from Gemini Dance Studio travelled to Bridlington to take part in the Freestyle Dance Championships recently.

While there, they had to compete against scores of other youngsters, not just from Britain, but from across Europe.

All the Redditch team members proved how talented they were, but Madeleine Barnwell, aged 12, really excelled, when she won second place in a section against approximately 80 other dancers.

And nine-year-old Kyra Hicks also did brillianly in her section, dancing her way through to the semi-finals against 80-90 other competitors.

Samantha Williams, who runs the Easemore Road dance school, said: “We are so incredibly proud of our young dancers. They did exceptionally well against many, more experienced dancers, from all over Great Britain and Europe.

“They all should all be absolutely delighted with how they performed, especially Madeleine and Kyra.”
