Woman robbed of her mobile phone in Redditch

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was robbed of her mobile phone in Redditch on Monday, February 18.

It happened between 12.30-1pm in Cedar Road, Batchley, as the 22-year-old victim was walking towards the town centre.

She was approached by three male youths one of whom grabbed hold of her coat and tried to take her phone from her. The other two youths then became involved and the victim’s mobile phone was taken from her.

All three youths are thought to be aged about 16 or 17. One is described as white, skinny, between 5ft 2-5ins tall and has bright blue eyes. He was wearing a white or cream waist-length jacket with a white hooded top underneath with the hood up, a baseball cap and white tracksuit bottoms.

Another of the youths was white, 6ft tall, skinny and wearing a dark navy hooded top with the hood up and light blue jeans. The other youth was black, between 5ft 2-5ins tall, stocky and has a full goatee beard. He was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, black jeans and black trainers.

Detective Constable Matt Archer said: “We are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Cedar Road area at this time and thinks they may have seen these men or the robbery taking place.”
