Joint Messy Church Redditch for some fun this half term

THE Messy Church Redditch team will be celebrating Jonah and the Whale this half term, on Thursday, February 21 between 2-4pm at Emmanuel Church in the Ecumenical Centre.

Messy Church is an opportunity for children and their parents to enjoy different crafts, learn about the bible and share a snack together.

The Christmas Messy Church saw more than 30 children come along with their parents to learn all about the Christmas story through lots of crafts, ringing handbells and decorating food. They then enjoyed a short celebration followed by a snack provided by the church.

At the Messy Church in half term, children will be making shiny wobbly fish, Jonah and the Whale bookmarks, doing a cookery activity and joining together to make a large whale for the celebration slot.

Rhiannon Walpole, from the organising team, said: "It's a great opportunity for families to spend some quality time together during half term for church.

We offer a range of activities to cater for all ages and there's always a lovely atmosphere. We look at different teachings from the bible during each session and there's always a quiet corner where people can offer their prayers, but mainly it's just a fun church to come to."

Messy Church has been organised by members of Emmanuel Church and Redditch Holy Trinity, and has been a huge success since it started two years ago, regularly attracting 30-40 children to sessions.
