Man attacked and robbed in Redditch street

A MAN was attacked and robbed of his phone in Ipsley Street, Redditch, on Monday, February 11 at about 5.20pm.

The 22-year-old victim was walking along Ipsley Street near the youth club when he was approached by two young men. They attacked him, dragged him to the floor and stole his Insignia mobile phone.

He received injuries to his nose, jaw and cheek and was taken by ambulance to the Redditch Alexandra Hospital for treatment. He is currently still in hospital.

Both offenders are thought to be about 20 years old and were both wearing black clothing. One of them is described as Asian and the other is white.

Detective Constable Andy Baxter said: “We are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Ipsley Street area on Monday evening and thinks they may have seen these men or the robbery taking place.”
