A WOMAN was sexually assaulted on her way to work in Redditch.
It happened at about 6.50am on Saturday, February 9, in Winyates Way.
The woman, who is in her 30s, had just got off the bus and was walking in the direction of Oxleasow Road when she noticed a man standing by some bushes.
As she approached him she noticed he was exposing himself and as she tried to walk past he put his arm around her back and then sexually assaulted her. He ran away towards Church Hill.
The man is described as white, about 30 years old, 5ft 6ins tall, muscular, clean shaven and has a large nose. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black trousers and was said to be heavily intoxicated.
Investigating officer PC Emily Silvester said: “It all happened very fast and the woman was left shocked and upset by this incident.
“She doesn’t remember anyone else walking nearby but there would have been traffic about including buses so we are hoping someone may have seen the man in the area.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Silvester on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident reference 61-N-090213, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
