A TRUE rock and roll legend will be coming to Redditch to play at the Palace Theatre.

Marty Wilde is coming to take Redditch by storm on Friday, February 24 as he presents an evening of rock memories from his own vaults and also pays homage to friends who helped shape the nature of British Rock 'n' Roll.

The icon will give an electric performance, along with his Wildcats, which celebrates the glory and brilliance of an era that would inspire youth culture across two decades and shape the future of the British music scene.

The show will include songs from Marty’s own library of hits, Teenager in Love, Jesamine, Bad Boy, Rubber Ball, Sea of Love and many more.

Born Reginald Leonard Smith, in Greenwich, Wilde was discovered at just 19-years-old by entrepreneur and star-maker Larry Parnes.

His big break came with the advent of the UK’s first rock and roll TV show, Six-Five Special.

Wilde enjoyed considerable radio play, secured success as the writer of such hits as Status Quo’s Ice In the Sun and by the 70s Marty had moved to managing and developing a music dynasty.

Tickets for the show cost £18 (£17 discount) from the box office on 01527 65203.
