Have your say on amendments to controversial housing proposal for Webheath

CHANGES to aspects of a controversial outline planning application for up to 200 homes in Webheath are now available for public comment until 5pm on Sunday, February 24.

An application submitted to Redditch Council for up to 200 dwellings and a building for retail and/or community use in the Webheath Area of Development Restraint (ADR) was put on hold in October so changes could be made following feedback received.

The changes are now publicly available and a new round of consultation on them is running. Changes include amendments to the way the site is accessed from Church Road and more information on the archaeology and wildlife of the site at the borough council’s request.

Amended plans are available to view online by visiting the ‘Planning Services’ page at redditchbc.gov.uk. The reference number is 2012/207/OUT.

The council’s head of planning and regeneration, Ruth Bamford, said: “The amendments to the application are in, and interested parties now have this extra 21 days of consultation to view and comment on the changes.

“Please note that it’s only the changes to the application that are under consultation at this stage, not the broader application itself. That has already had an extended period of consultation, and all representations received at that time still stand.”

The application is considered likely to go to the March meeting of the council’s planning committee, where public speaking arrangements have already been agreed.
