Intimate venue The Room Upstairs benefits from makeover

INTIMATE venue The Room Upstairs in the Palace Theatre has benefited from a makeover.
The theatre’s studio space, used for specialist stage events, has been re-equiped and refurbished making it a more welcoming and functional room.
The redevelopment was made possible thanks to Rilys Indian restaurant.
A Palace Theatre spokesman said: “The Room Upstairs is used not just for staged events but also for community activities during the day.
“It already hosts the Redditch Art Circle, Line Dancing, and Vocalize, a local singing and performing arts academy as well as the Palace’s own Youth Theatre.”
They added that the room is also available to hire.
The next show at The Room Upstairs will be Tales From The Shadows on Saturday, February 9.
Master storyteller Andrew Meller brings to life Edgar Allen Poe’s greatest characters and most menacing scenes.
