Animal sanctuary has roof repaired thanks to generous Advertiser readers
2:40pm Tuesday 5th February 2013 in News
THE Farm Animal & Bird Sanctuary in Tadebigge has thanked all the Advertiser readers who responded to its appeal for funds to restore its barn roof.
Charity co-founer Maureen Lawless said thanks to their generosity, £2,400 to repair the barn roof in the nick of time
She said: “The roof was riddled with holes. Heavy rain was pouring in and gales had blown off metal sheets leaving huge gaps.
“Fortunately we were able to buy new sheets at a discount. Then two kind roofers,Tony and Paul, gave up three days of their new year’s holiday to repair the roof.
“It was finished just a week before the snow came so our rescued animals were able to shelter and watch the blizzards from their warm dry beds.
“Thank you all for your support.”
The Sanctuary Charity Shop in New Road, Rubery would also be grateful for donations of clothing, rags, bric-a-brac, books
and furniture.
For large items collections can be arranged by ringing 01527 870613.
