BT has receivied approximately 600 fault reports from Church Uill after three underground cables were damaged in what is believed to be a deliberate attack.

A spokesman said: "Openreach engineers are working very hard but it is a painstaking process.

"Openreach updates all service providers with the latest information so they can keep their individual customers informed.

"With a major repair like this obviously things are changing all the time.
One of the cables isn’t damaged quite as badly as the other two, but I am still waiting for an update on when the first customers will get their services back.

"The nature of the repairs means customers will be put back on one at a time, gradually, rather than all in one go."
