Resident calls for action to be taken over flooded underpass

A RESIDENT has called for action to be taken over an underpass which is continually flooding, meaning people are unable to use it.

The underpass is based near Battens Drive and is used by many people to get to Arrow Valley Lake.

Resident Mick Coop said: “It’s really annoying when I, and my three dogs, have to walk out of our way, as do many other people, including fellow pensioners, because the underpass is once again flooded with several feet of water.

“I have complained to the council but once again it is flooded, and nothing is being done about it.”

A Worcestershire County Council spokesman said: “An inspector has been dispatched to see if the gullies here are blocked.

“If they appear to be clear, we will contact Halcrow to check that the pumps are working.

“If they confirm that they are, we will send our jetter/camera crew to investigate.”
