Robber armed with knife steals cash from Winyates shop

POLICE are appealing for information from the public about a robbery in Redditch in which a man armed with a knife went into a shop and demanded cash.

It happened between 8.30-8.45pm on Friday, January 25, at the One Stop convenience shop in Winyates.

The offender, whose face was concealed with a scarf and hood, approached from the direction of Winforton Close.

He went into the shop and demanded a member of staff open the till, producing a knife from his jacket pocket. When the assistant removed the till drawer he grabbed a handful of notes and left the shop, dropping several as he did so. He went in the direction of the bus lane.

He is described as white, aged 20 to 35, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, and wearing a grey top with a dark blue hooded top beneath, light grey bottoms, and light brown ankle boots.

The member of staff was not hurt but was shaken.
