Help re-open Redditch Youth House

“REDDITCH Youth House can be re-opened but it needs your help,” is the message from a local campaign group.

Following the closure of the house, on Ipsley Street, The Redditch Youth and Community Enterprise (RYCE) has been campaigning to re-open it.

Now the group has a plan but need the public’s help.

RYCE chairman Ray Groves said: “This is actually a really good building with a large sports hall and function rooms that many people have never noticed.

“With public support the youth house can be bought and rise again as a venue for all sorts of activities.

“It could be a great asset to people in Redditch for years to come.”

The group wants to set up a co-op with support from local people that can attract funds to buy the centre from Worcestershire County Council.

Mr Groves added: “When we launch our scheme in the next few weeks we will need a number of people and organisations to invest £100 in the charity’s shares to unlock further funds.

“The shares can be paid for in instalments, attract a good rate of interest and an investor can withdraw their money if they wish.”

For more information or to get involved, there will be a public meeting at Redditch Town Hall on February 20.
