A REDDITCH school pupil has been handed a prestigious award, acting as a lasting legacy to Princess Diana.

Alex Brazier, sixth form student at St Augustine’s Catholic High School, was recently awarded a Diana Award for her tireless volunteering.

The awards were founded in 1999 by the Government to act as a legacy to the late Princess’ belief in the power of young people.

The aim, among other things, is to help improve the perception of young people in the media and create a platform for young people to be heard.

A St Augustine’s spokesman said: “This award is testimony to Alex’s selfless contribution to the community and recognises the amazing work she has done.

“This is a tremendous achievement.”
