Astwood Bank butcher thanks loyal customers
11:50am Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News
THE owner of a popular, award winning Astwood Bank butchers shop has thanked his “loyal” and “patient” customers who were faced with long Christmas queues after a member of staff was in a motorobike accident.
Staff member Pete Nicholson ended up with an injured foot, which had to be elevated for several weeks, so was unable to work.
This left Pete the Meat’s owner, Pete Lawton, with just one other member of staff for the Christmas rush.
Mr Lawton said: “Christmas is always busy but with Pete off injured, our customers were having to wait a very long time to collect their food.
“But they are very loyal, and were very patient when faced with really long delays. Most were just concered that Pete was alright, which meant the world to all of us.”
Thankfully Mr Lawton was able to call on family members on occasion who helped serve customers as quickly as possible.
Mr Nicholson has been able to return to work and is on the mend.
