POLICE are appealing for information about a burglary in Hollywood, near Redditch, during which the offender was disturbed and chased off by the householder.
It happened in Hawthorn Drive at around 7.40pm on Wednesday, January 16.
The offender went into the house through an unlocked rear door but was found in the kitchen by the occupant, who had heard a noise.
He ran out of the back door into the garden, chased by the occupant, who followed him through a side gate to the front of the property, where he got into a silver four door hatchback, believed to be a Vauxhall Meriva, and drove off at speed and without lights in the direction of Houndsfield Lane.
He is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, and aged in his late 20s or early 30s.
He got away with two wallets containing a variety of cards, £100 cash, and a car key fob.
House to house inquiries have been carried out.
Detective Constable Paul Lettis of West Mercia Police said: "This incident demonstrates the importance of householders keeping doors locked, even when the property is occupied."
