MP Karen Lumley MP Karen Lumley

REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley pledged her support to Holocaust Memorial Day by signing a book of commitment in the House of Commons.

Sunday January 27 will mark the 68th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the Nazi concentration and extermination camp.

In the weeks running up to the day, the Holocaust Educational Trust placed a Book in the House of Commons, giving MPs the chance to honour those who were persecuted and killed.

In signing the book Mrs Lumley paid tribute to the individuals who survived the Holocaust.

She said: “Holocaust Memorial Day is an important opportunity to remember the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.

“I encourage all constituents to mark the day and to join members of community in the fight against prejudice and intolerance.”
