Gritters out this evening in Redditch

WORCESTERSHIRE County Council is urging motorists out and about to take care on the roads as temperatures are expected to fall below freezing overnight.

Vehicles from the council's fleet of gritters will be going out to the A435 and A448 in the Redditch area tonight from 7pm.

The authority has echoed the driving advice to motorists issued by the West Mercia Safer Roads Partnership, which has advised drivers to take extra care when out on the roads, and never assume it is safe to drive at normal speeds even if the road has been gritted.

Gritting advice is available at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/gritting. The dedicated section allows visitors to use interactive maps to follow the designated routes, pinpoint their nearest grit bin and report any problems via the web.

Information will also be tweeted from the county council's Twitter account www.twitter.com/worcscc (@worcscc)
