THE new year is already off to a flying start for one teenage entrepreneur specialising in high-end equestrian gear.

19-year-old Jack Eaves started Espayo Equestrian, in Mappleborough Green near Redditch, only a year ago but is already unveiling ambitious plans for 2013.

The business provides clothing, boots and accessories from some of the world’s most respected equestrian designers, as well as high quality products for horses.

Mr Eaves said he has big plans for the future of his business.

“It has always been an ambition of mine to run my own business and it was a natural choice for me to set up a company that tapped into my equestrian passion,” he said.

“Having previously worked in an equestrian shop it became clear to me that I could offer a better standard of service for fashion conscious riders.”

Having successfully launched the business online, Mr Eaves opened a high street store in early 2012 and now with the help of business advisory firm Smith Cooper has plans for two further retail outlets.

He added: “As a brand name Espayo lends itself to a variety of uses, and I think will be just as successful in other areas of the country.

"It is an exciting time for the business. Equine fashion is universal and you don’t have to ride in order to enjoy the style that has for many years influenced some of the most famous designers including Ralph Lauren and Hackett.”
