Generous Redditch motorcyclists bring festive cheer to Acorns

A GENEROUS bunch of motorcyclists from Redditch-based RMT Motorcycle Training and Riders Club have been busy collecting donations for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
They travelled to Worcester on December 7 to hand over their cash donations - with more than £1,500 raised so far.
The aim is that the donations will help the hospice ensure children there experience the best possible Christmas.
RMT owner Simon Hayes said: “This is our third year supporting Acorns, we stopped a short distance from the hospice to get the bikes looking Christmassy with tinsel and decorations and to get ourselves looking and feeling the part too.
“We then rode to the hospice where the kids always look forward to seeing the festive motorcycles.
“Acorns Children’s Hospice does a tremendous job in providing care, short breaks, and end of life care to life limited and life threatened children so if you would like to give a donation before Christmas, you still can.”
Carole Crowe, Acorns community fundraising manager for the Three Counties, said: “Acorns relies on the generosity of members of the community, like the big-hearted bikers from RMT, to continue services for local children which are provided free to families but cost £750 a day, per child.
“The bikers’ kindness and annual visit really makes a difference and is appreciated by everyone at Acorns.”
