A COLLEGE student had a surprise meeting with Gordon Brown when the former Prime Minister recently visited the Westmead Hotel in Hopwood, near Redditch.

Alistair Darrall, a student at Stratford on Avon College, is studying for his foundation degree in hospitality management and met Mr Brown while on his work placement at the hotel.

Alistair said: “He is a really nice guy and was more than happy to pose for photos.”
