WITNESSES and information are being sought after a van was set alight in Redditch and in another, unconnected incident, a deep scratch was gouged along the length of a car parked in the town.

A white LDV panel van was parked outside Studley Road Social Club in Redditch between 9pm on Friday, December 7, and 9am the following day when it was broken into.

Part of the dashboard was melted when it was set alight, as was a seat in the vehicle. The windscreen was cracked, a loading door ripped off and a Tom Tom sat nav and tools taken from inside. The tools were in a yellow and black toolbox on wheels.

In a separate incident a silver Vauxhall Vectra was attacked in Rookery Close between 3-5.30pm on Saturday, December 8. Damage estimated at £800 was caused when it was scratched from the driver's side front wing all the way down the side of the car to the rear brake light.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact officers at Redditch Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident references 38-N-081212 and 585-S-081212. Details can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
