A MOTORCYCLE training company in Redditch is providing free lessons in riding a bike throughout the winter weather.

The three-hour long course is targeted at inexperienced motorcyclists who ride small powered two wheelers between 50 and 125cc, and provides guidance on winter checks, and winter riding techniques.

The ‘Take Control’ course is being run by RMT Motorcycle Training with the Safer Roads Partnership (SRP), and is open to anyone with a CBT certificate and their own bike.

A spokesman said: “We have been working with The SRP over the last year and this a fabulous initiative to help keep the most vulnerable road users safe with some free training, places are limited so people need to book early if they don’t want to miss the opportunity.

“You don’t often get something for nothing but the SRP are paying for people to do this, this course is normally in the region of £80. They have also produced gift vouchers for Christmas presents for those who want to get their loved ones ‘riding larger machines’ something too, these have been discounted to £50 for a full day advanced motorcycle training. It shows the dedication by them, to reduce accidents in our region.”

Courses are running on Saturday, December 22 and Thursday, December 27. For more information or to book a place, call 01527 500333 or visit rmtnet.co.uk.
