A LOCAL fashion school is using its end of year show to bring some handmade crafts to the catwalk.

The IDC Academy, which is based at the Old Needleworks, is holding its end of year show at Redditch Town Hall, and introducing some of the small businesses which also run out of the Needleworks.

Alongside the award-winning couture, will be companies showing off everything from tiaras and jewellery, to sock monkeys.

Borough councillors Bill Hartnett and Brandon Clayton have also been invited to open the show, by strutting down the catwalk in their high heels ahead of their town centre walk for the White Ribbon Campaign.

There will also be stalls selling crafts and a Chinese raffle.

The fashion show is taking place on Friday, November 30 from 5.30pm. Tickets are £5 with all funds raised going to Redditch Night Stop, Basement in Bromsgrove, Cystic Fibrosis, Macmillan Nurses, and the Needle Factory Campaign to Save Heritage.
