THE wet and windy weather could not deter Noah's ark Nursery in Matchborough from enjoying their annual Planting by the Pond.
The excited three and four year olds picked up their trowels to help Matchborough councillor Juliet Brunner and Local Policing Officer Paul Downes plant daffodils in the park by the pond.
Noah's Ark manager Liz Kuriger said: "The children are always thrilled to plant bulbs and it’s an excellent opportunity for children to gain a sense of ownership of their community.”
Coun Brunner added: "This is the eighth year we have planted bulbs in the local community and we have never had any vandalism.
“I'm looking forward to seeing the fruits of their labour in the spring. Hopefully we will get the platinum award for England in Bloom next year.”
