Fun day set to launch centre
PARENTS, carers and children are being invited to a free fun day to help launch YMCA's Maple Trees Children's Centre in Matchborough.
The fun day, on Friday, May 23, will see a wide range of animal-themed entertainment activities provided at Matchborough First School from 10.30am-12.30pm and then at Tenacres First School from noon-2pm.
Redditch MP and Home Secretary Jacqui Smith will be there to officially open the centre and there will be opportunities for children to see live animals, listen to stories, have their faces painted and watch balloon modelling.
Helen Horton, YMCA children's centre manager, said: "We want all families to know about the fantastic facilities we're offering at Maple Trees Children's Centre and that's why we're inviting people to this free, fun day."
