A SERIOUS sexual assault is alleged to have taken place at a party in the Alder Carr Close area of Greenlands.
The victim, a girl in her late teens, has told police she and the alleged offender were arguing in a car park in Alder Carr Close at about 10pm on Sunday, May 4 and she remembers seeing a white van with two men inside.
She then walked onto Greenlands Avenue in the direction of Woodrow and the alleged offender followed her as far as Redditch South Social Club.
At this point, the woman jumped out into the road to try and flag down a passing blue car, which swerved to avoid the woman but did not stop.
Eventually, they returned to the house where the party was being held and the woman recalls a people carrier style taxi go past as they walked back to Alder Carr Close.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released on bail pending further inquiries.
Dc Eleanor Jones said: "We're appealing to the drivers of the white van, blue car and taxi who may have seen the man and woman to come forward with any information they may have.
"Also we would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen the man and woman in the area of the social club, Greenlands Drive or Alder Carr Drive on Sunday evening."
Anyone with information should contact Dc Jones at Redditch police on 08457 444 888 or call Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
