Man assaulted after sexuality questioned

A MAN has been assaulted at a Redditch nightclub in an apparent homophobic attack.

The victim, a 21-year-old who is not homosexual, was approached by two men and asked if he was gay at Fuse nightclub, Church Road, at about 1am on Friday, May 9.

The man was then punched in the face and kicked, sustaining cuts and bruising to his face and bruising to his stomach.

Pc Karen Johnson of Redditch police said it was believed there were a number of witnesses to the incident.

In particular, police want to speak to two male witnesses who spoke to a bouncer.

The offenders were both white men with shaved heads or very short hair.

One was slim, 5ft 8ins tall, with light-coloured hair and wearing a light blue t-shirt and jeans.

He had a tattoo on his neck.

The other man was of a similar appearance and is also believed to have a tattoo.
