Woman assaulted in Matchborough

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Matchborough Way.

The victim, a 37-year-old woman, has told police she was assaulted by a woman and a man outside the Old Sticky Wicket pub between 9pm on Tuesday, May 6 and 1am on Wednesday, May 7.

She has told police she was knocked to the floor, and kicked.

The victim sustained swelling and bruising to her face, and cuts to her leg and back, for which she sought treatment at the Alexandra Hospital.
