YOUNG people from all over Redditch battled it out at the street soccer finals at Trinity High School.

There was amazing play from many of the young people but the competition was eventually won by Team Webb with Step Up FC as runners-up.

The competition, held on March 27, was run by Redditch YMCA in partnership with the sports development unit and funded through the Football Foundation.

Darren Veness, Redditch YMCA's youth services manager, said: "It was a great way for young people to do something active while having an enjoyable time with their mates in a competitive environment."

The 08/09 street soccer league is due to start in May and will be held at Arrow Vale astroturf, Trinity High School, Batchley astroturf and Kingsley College.

To enter next year's league, teams of six players, aged over 12, mixed or single sex, need to contact Redditch YMCA on 61643 extension 201 before the end of April.
