ALVECHURCH Bellringers proved they have real pulling power by winning a recent bell ringing competition.
The group, which is going from strength to strength, won the Call Change Trophy in the North Worcestershire Striking Competition.
Their entry consisted of ringing 180 changes lasting approximately five-and-a-half minutes.
Each band was allowed up to two minutes of practice prior to their striking competition piece.
A spokesman from Alvechurch Bellringers said: "The band is delighted to have won.
"We have a certificate for the tower and a wooden bell which is held as the call change trophy and must be defended next year."
The Alvechurch Bell Fund is in need of £60,000 for the bell restoration project.
To date more than £15,000 has been raised but more is needed. For more details or to donate, visit the website www.alvechurchbells.org.uk.
