GLAMOROUS costumes and glitzy dance steps – it must be the Midlands Musical Theatre Group’s annual Christmas show.

MMTG return to the Malvern Theatres this week, staging their much-loved festive show. This year’s stage extravaganza, entitled the Magic Of The Music, opens tonight and runs until Saturday, November 27.

In keeping with tradition, it will be overflowing with well known songs, kitsch dance routines and comedy finished off with sparkling costumes and the promise of a sing-along.

Youngsters from the Harlequin Stage School and comedian Barry North will take starring turns and styles will range from big band to Bollywood, Merseybeat right through to Mozart.

The Worcestershire-based theatre group, which brings together people from all over the region, has been performing shows since 1978.

This year they will be raising money for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign, the chosen charity of your Worcester News.

MMTG president Robert Wilson, a local am-dram stalwart who helped found the company, said: “Since the shows began we have raised more than £130,000 for local and national charities and with so many deserving causes it is never easy to decide which charity should benefit.

"With so many people affected by breast cancer every year we chose Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.”

The show will also support the 2nd Skin Lingerie Bra Chain by collecting old and unwanted bras in an attempt to break the world’s longest sponsored bra chain.
