TELEVISION presenter Kirstie Allsopp is set to bring The Handmade Fair to Ragley Hall next month.

Having already enjoyed three successful years at Hampton Court Palace, the fair is launching the second event at Ragley from Friday, May 12.

Speaking to the Advertiser the Location, Location, Location star said picking Ragley was an easy choice.

"The success of the event depends on the location," she said.

"Ragley Hall is a wonderful stately home so the choice to come here was easy. Plus, I know the area well from filming Location and my days on County Living magazine."

People can put their creative skills to the test during the event in the grounds of the Palladian mansion on Friday, May 12 to Sunday, May 14.

The fair will bring together Britain’s best handmade products, crafts supplies, and artisan foods.

The programme will include live ‘craft-offs’ from the experts, question and answer sessions, and demonstrations from some of the country’s best-known makers.

There will also be hands-on workshops where visitors can learn new skills such as willow weaving, upholstery, needle-felting and calligraphy and take home anything they make.

Kirstie said: "One of the best things about this event is seeing people coming away at the end of the day with things they have made themselves. It's just a great feeling.

"I love doing things myself. I've been lucky enough to learn a lot of great new skills from some fabulous people. I want others to get the same chance."

She added: "It's not just for crafty people though. The fair is for all kinds of people. The events and activities we have lined up are so wide ranging, there really is something for everyone.

"The idea behind it is to see, and if you want buy, lots of lovely items and for people to learn how to make those lovely items for themselves.

"That, and just have a fantastic day out enjoying themselves with friends and family."

Allsopp will be top bill on the Friday, in the super theatre giving talks alongside Anthony Devine from The Ministry of Upholstery, uber knitter Erika Knight, and Liz Earle, skincare specialist and founder of the multi-award winning Fairtrade jewellery range.

For the remainder of the weekend she will hand over the reins to Liz, and Patrick Grant, British designer and judge on The Great British Sewing Bee.

Freya Cromarty, sales and show manager at Brand Events, said: "Over the last few years, The Handmade Fair has become a renowned success and we’re thrilled to be expanding to Warwickshire.

"It’s a great event to be a part of and our visitors will come away with tonnes of inspiration and everything they need to make their life and home more beautiful."
