POP Idol’s Gareth Gates will be coming to Redditch later this month in the Palace Theatre's Easter panto Robin Hood.

The heartthrob will star in the title role as Robin Hood, protecting Sherwood Forest from The Bill’s Graham Cole OBE in his villainous role of the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Rainbow’s Zippy and George feature as the Merry Men.

Completing the cast is Ryan Greaves as comic ‘Wally’ Scarlett, Phylip Harries as Dame Dolly, Keeley Fitzgerald as the Forest Fairy and Eva McKenna as Maid Marian.

A theatre spokesman described the panto as an "all-singing, all-dancing rollercoaster ride through pantoland".

"Bring the whole family along for panto fun and frolics as Robin Hood and his Merry Men battle to outwit the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham," he said.

Robin Hood is on Friday, April 21 at 7pm and Saturday, April 22 at 3pm and 7pm.
