RESIDENTS are being invited to attend the Palace Youth Theatre's latest performance, and help raise vital cash for the trip of a lifetime.

The youth group are hoping to attend the first ever English speaking drama festival in Belgium at the end of April but need to raise £3,400.

The three day trip, being organised by Lynne Vaughn, the founder of the original Palace Youth Theatre in the 1970s, will see groups performing for each other as well as attending drama workshops and networking with groups from across Europe.

15 students aged between 15 and 18 are hoping to attend.

The Interknot, a challenging play that lasts 45 mins and looks at the perils of cyber bullying, is on April 16 at the Palace Theatre.

Liz Tabberer, Youth Theatre and Arts Officer, said: “All of the young people involved in The Interknot have worked really hard and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic, socially challenging piece – exactly the sort of thing that is perfect for the Belgian festival.

"So if you’re at a loss for what to do with your evening, come and see our show.”

The show will take place on Saturday, April 16 in the Room Upstairs at 7.45pm.

Tickets cost £5 inclusive of a £1 booking fee and all proceeds go towards funding the trip.
