PIZZA and pasta lovers are in for a treat as Prezzo has landed in Redditch.

The Italian restaurant is the latest brand to join the line-up at the in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre's food and leisure quarter known as The Hub, writes Ben Russell.

Opened earlier this month it further expands the variety of food on offer to shoppers.

On arrival the staff were more than welcoming and showed myself and my colleagues to our table.

Despite it being quite busy our drinks arrived quickly.

For starters we had the large pane con cipolla to share, a garlic pizza bread, balsamic onions and mozzarella.

It was just the right size and the perfect choice to whet our appetites for what was to come.

For the mains I choose to have the steak and rocket executive pizza.

The rare steak was delicious and cooked perfectly, while the red onions, cherry tomatoes, and olives all tasted fresh.

The pizza also came with bella lodi cheese, balsamic and olive oil dressed rocket, mozzarella and tomato.

One of my colleagues opted for the vibrantly coloured lobster and crab tortelli with spinach and chilli in a saffron sauce.

She said the pasta was more than generously filled, and the sauce was delicious, with a delightful chilli kick, complementing the lobster and crab beautifully.

It came with just the right amount of sauce and wasn’t too spicy.

The other main was the ll Carltoni, a calzone with pepperoni, seasoned chicken, pancetta, peppers, pomodoro sauce and cheese.

My colleague said she was satisfied by the generous portion, which she somehow managed to finish, and the quality of the dough was lovely and tasted fresh.

She said the calzone was well-filled with juicy chicken and spicy pepperoni pieces which gave it a real kick.

All of the dishes were served freshly cooked, piping hot and in a generous portions.

For dessert, against our better judgement and stuffed stomachs, we were brought a delicious honeycomb smash cheesecake blended and topped with crunchy honeycomb pieces coated in chocolate, and a special mini calzone filled with fruit-based mincemeat in crisp crumbly pastry.

One of my colleagues also had a mulled wine, as it is Christmas, which she said was hot and spicy with the taste of cinnamon and nutmeg coming through perfectly.

With delicious food and great service, it was a pleasure going to Prezzo and we would all definitely go back.
