DESCRIBED as a purveyor of delicious unexpectedness, Action Bronson will be coming to Birmingham.

Before becoming a heralded rap artist who shares the same management as Eminem, he was known as Arian Asllani, a New York-bred, Albanian and Jewish culinary chef with his own cooking show.

Fans of the stage and stove can easily find the impresario shopping stateside for heirloom tomatoes or overseas for samples.

His fresh herb affinity ranges from cilantro to sour diesel.

Since entering rap’s ring four years ago he has undertaken a number of well-known collaborative projects and played a number of major performances including Coachella, showing off his sharp wit and highbrow hilarity.

Action’s first full-length release Mr. Wonderful is a culmination of every ingredient that’s made his discography delectable, then taken levels higher.

The album blends the MC’s influences - top rap game with live instrumentation - which leads into a wonderland of sonic discovery.

“I gave this my most incredible effort,” said Bronson of his debut.

“If you listen to everything I’ve put out and then listen to this you’ll hear the steps that I’ve taken to go all out and show progression.”

The rap artist will headline the Institute in Birmingham on September 18.
